Locality

The Blackall Range is home to Maleny, Montville, Flaxton and Mapleton,.

The range’s southern slopes give rise to the Stanley River, while its northwestern slopes are drained by Obi Obi Creek, which feeds the Baroon Pocket Dam.

Mary Cairncross Reserve, marking the site of the first settler’s house on the range, offers historical significance. The area also boasts natural beauty with Curramore Sanctuary, Mapleton Falls National Park, and Kondalilla National Park. Several lookouts provide stunning views of the coast.

As one of Queensland’s iconic regions, the Blackall Range is protected for its environmental significance, ensuring its beauty for generations to come.
