The Mapleton Movers Heart Foundation Walking Group enjoyed a lunch recently to thank Beth Wilkins for her being the Group Organiser for the last few years. We wish her and husband Rod well for their future plans.
New group organiser, Donna Klease said “The Mapleton Movers Heart Foundation Walking Group was formed in 2019 after a local cancer raising fund morning tea discussion. My friend Beth and I found that there weren’t any walking groups in Mapleton and decided to find a worthwhile walking group that would support us and the community and found the Heart Foundation Walking Program. As one of Australia’s largest free walking network with helpful healthy tips and information, it was the perfect group to join.”
Heart Foundation Walking recommend walking for an average of 30mins or more a day to lower the risk of Heart, stroke and type 2 diabetes.
Mapleton Movers meets Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Lilyponds Park Carpark, Mapleton at 7am. Mapleton Movers is for all ages, everyone is welcome including prams, wheelchairs and even your furry friends but on a lead thanks. You will enjoy several different walks around the beautiful hinterland village of Mapleton on concrete paths with a coffee locally afterwards. Alternating with walks in Flaxton which look out over coastal views of the Sunshine Coast, and a couple of different Mapleton National Park walks. See you there!
